Yay, Pilots!
A picture of Addison in USA Today caught my eye this afternoon. It was your standard article about how the networks are feeling hassled over prepping for pilot season. I know! Cry me a river, right? Anyway, they talked about some surefire pilots that have already been green-lit, and one is the new J.J. Abrams supernatural procedural starring Josh Jackson, which I will obviously be giving a shot. All for you, Josh! But also, a "scientific drama" from producer Jerry Bruckheimer starring Rufus Sewell!

So, [info]themis. We will obviously be watching that, yes?

OMG. Rufus Sewell on my TV every week?!

I hope they don't make him use an American accent. He did it very well in Dark City, but it is such a waste.

According to the IMDb page, the show is about: "a government scientist" and "his attractive counterpart" who "save people from deadly scientific experiments." (Hopefully it just sounds completely lame.) But I am sure said government equals the United States, so I would bet that he'll be doing an American accent. Sigh.

Hey! The show is going to be a remake of a short-lived British series! Way to not mention that in your article, USA Today! It sounds interesting to me!

Yeah, I looked up some stuff about it just after I posted the comment. I hope it is more successful than the British version. I mean, what I read said that a lot of people watched it but that it got heavily rewritten by the producers.

They probably won't mention it's a remake much more - a lot of Americans know Patrick Stewart but will go "Rufus Sewell who?" SIGH, CBS, no one ever questioned Cary Grant's accent! We just accepted that he was playing Americans. I would make the same sacrifice to hear Rufus Sewell's real voice.

Do you think you'll be watching/downloading John Adams?

I am too! Except the show sounds pretty lame to me. It is about a government scientist and his "attractive counterpart" who go around saving people from "deadly science experiments." (I am sure they pitched the show that way! It is about a MALE scientist and his ATTRACTIVE FEMALE COUNTERPART. So lame!)

I am thinking that it will not be all that bad because it's Rufus Sewell, and he wouldn't do anything that sucked. But then I remember all of the rotten movies in his repertoire and am not so sure.

ETA: Hey! I kept looking for info on the show, and it turns out it is a remake of a British mini-series.

TRISTAN + ISOLDE, CAITIE. THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

But, he almost made it worth it. (As with The Very Thought of You. Almost worth it for Rufus and Tiny Tom Hollander.)
