This entry is ALL OVER the place.
Mostly stream-of-conscious thoughts what I have thought about Addison on Grey's!

THE SHOW THAT MUST NOT BE NAMED

1. I hate Addison's hair. I know it looked darker on Private Practice, but it's even darker now, right? FIX IT. Or don't, since I am so totally NOT watching Private Practice next season. Sorry, Kate!

2. Meredith/Derek are still a vortex of suck. I watched The Office and 30 Rock during their scenes, and I don't even really like those shows.

3. Poor Bailey!

4. Alex and Ava's pregnancy completely grosses me out, but honestly? Out of everyone on this show who could have a baby? Alex would probably do the best parenting job and be the most interesting while doing it. I just sort of regret that all the Alex + babies stuff seems to have led to this story line rather than him going into prenatal surgery. But if the Chief does finally replace Addison, who knows?

5. IZZIE. Still annoying! Maybe if she'd actually said: "Your baby would have a 98% chance of being born healthy," instead of the much more ominous sounding: "With the proper care, we could substantially decrease the chances blah blah blah etcetera," in the first place, there would never have been a problem. And, hey, I don't care what the context of the conversation is. If a doctor who is supposed to be setting me up with an abortion said ANYTHING about how abortion is between me and my god, I would probably PUNCH HER IN THE FACE.

6. Still hate Mark. Callie can do better! SPEAKING OF WHICH.

7. I totally love the idea of Callie and Dr. Hahn! If it actually happens, that would be awesome! There are quite a few center-stage male/male relationships on mainstream network TV right now, but I'm having trouble thinking of a single lesbian couple? (But then, I'm admittedly not watching that much TV right now.) I will try to keep up with them on YouTube, I think.

8. "I don't speak Girl," was very excellent. Only, heeey, it's not so much Girl that Cristina doesn't speak as it is NORMAL HUMAN BEING. I still love her, though.

9. I really loved how Addison kept insisting that everything was exactly the same when it so clearly was not. Oh, Addison. So caught up in her own drama! But that is why we love her!

Overall, I'm very pleased. Like, watching it mostly reminded me of why I DON'T watch the show anymore, but the commercials made it look like Addison was coming back to shill for Meredith/Derek, which completely grossed me out and almost scared me away. I am glad they did not.

Ugly Betty

I really enjoyed last week's episode, and this one was really funny. Daniel cracked me up most of all, what with his willingness to believe that Betty was in love with him. Even AFTER Gabrielle Union was hospitalized! But OF COURSE he would, because he is a gigantic narcissist.

And, man, [info]keenai was SO RIGHT (in advance! again!) about Betty and Daniel always having the 8:58 make-up kiss. I hate to be mean, but I'm really ready for Henry and Charlie to shove off.

And I totally flashbacked to that time Ben told Noel to hit him (and Noel actually did it) when Henry punched Gio. Only Ben and Noel actually ended up fighting. GOOD TIMES.

You know how I know that my TiVo loves me? I set it to tape me Smallville tonight (I wanted to see who Chloe was engaged to in the AU; I was hoping it was Lex, of course. I am sure I will be disappointed.), and it totally did not. It has my best interests at heart!

And Paula Abdul is so full of it! The more she tries to explain, the less sense she makes! Really, she should just admit that she took notes about how Jason Castro sucked like a thing that sucks during his dress rehearsal. And, yeah, she should be really ashamed that she did that, because that's pretty crappy. If you want to observe something about the arrangement, fine, but you don't get to judge the strength of the performance BEFORE THE ACTUAL PERFORMANCE.

Either that, or Idol really is rigged. I KNEW IT.

Also, Hilary Duff turned down the role on the 90210.2! I am positively gutted! They cast some girl from Degrassi instead. TRAGIC.

Also? Obama's reverend is a dick. Not because of anything he said, but because he knowingly screwed Obama over after Obama defended him at a time when it was the POLAR OPPOSITE of politically advantageous. And then he turns around and repays him by making a spectacle of himself and voicing the kinds of superficial remarks that a.) are unfortunate in the first place and b.) were flagrantly inappropriate in that setting. Ugh. Crazy old people! What are you gonna do? (I really hope I do not turn old and crazy.)

God, of all the crap things to lambast Obama about, you'd think they'd pick something relevant, like his comparative lack of experience or his his consistent promise of change without telling us what the nature of that change will be in plain English.

Oh no, instead of important, relevant things? They go the, OBAMA'S PREACHER IS CRAZY route. And really, nobody goes to church for the preachin'. They go to church to see and socialize with their churchfriends. A good preacher is really just a happy bonus.

The mainstream media is full of suck ass clowns who never do their damn jobs. If they actually did their jobs, we wouldn't be in this war, Bush wouldn't be president, and we wouldn't have spent over a week thinking there'd been an international incident between the navy and Iran. THEY CAN'T HELP THEMSELVES.

And they'd pretty much let it go. Reluctantly! Grudgingly! But the story was mostly over. So I completely blame the Revered Wright.

And I keep telling myself that we wouldn't be having this problem if Ohio hadn't gone and gotten electile disfunction last election.

Also! I am seriously considering spending way too much money to fly home to vote, because I totally don't trust Cali to get my my absentee paperwork in time and I won't be a Va citizen because it is _impossible_ to get residency here without a bunch of red tape and "not being a dependent of your parents even though you are a grownup >_<"

That is seriously annoying! You should be able to vote where you live! Bogus!

A-freaking-men. I stood in line for three hours to vote in a state that SCREWED EVERYTHING UP.

I love this icon. I love even more that the key word is "O-H! N-O!" so I can mock my fellow OSU alums, as well. ;)

The episode where Ben and Noel fight is seriously one of my favorites ever.

Also, what girl from Degrassi? Is it weird that I am like actually excited for that show?

Degrassi or 90210.2? AND THEN I WILL TELL YOU.

I could never really get into Degrassi, but I think she played a character with reddish-brown hair named Darcy?

I should learn how to make more sense. FAIL :(

What I meant: What girl from Degrassi was cast on the 90210 spinoff, and is it weird that I am totally excited for the 90210 spinoff.

I stopped watching Degrassi circa mid 2004, so I've missed lots of the lolz and drama. I do sadly know of the girl who plays Darcy because she was on the craptacular Naturally, Sadie which I watched on the Disney Channel. (Life With Derek is clearly the best Canadian kids' show.)

Naturally, Sadie must indeed have been craptacular since I watch 80% of everything on DC and have never watched a single episode!

Wow, you're the only person I know who doesn't like 30 Rock!

Definitely not the only person who doesn't like The Office, thankfully.

I hate Meredith/Derek too, although I enjoyed this ep. I like it when the Grey's characters actually act like doctors that want to have careers, not just workplace sex, so I was happy that Meredith was starting these clinical trials. I just really hope it isn't reduced to a way for them to get together. Oh, and Izzy is just a big hot mess. I mean, she did CPR on a deer - I still can't get over that. And her big 'I am a doctor again!' moment wasn't all that great. She couldn't have done something awesome and surgical? Just convince a woman with HIV to have a baby? Oh well. I hope the Ava/Alex baby storyline sheds some more light on Alex's issues that they keep hinting at. I'd much rather hear about this than watch Meredith and Derek stare at each other googily. But I was liking the Hahn/Callie stuff - homosexual!panic Callie is really funny! And I second 'poor Bailey'. She was always my favorite. I stopped watching Private Practice, so I can't comment on where Addison's head is at. I can't believe I'm talking so much about Grey's Anatomy. ><

Ugly Betty was hilarious! I love Daniel, the narcissistic idiot. Oh, and I hated Gio from the beginning, but I was actaully OK with him this episode. Mainly because I was pretty annoyed at Henry. I mean, I've loved him throughout the Betty/Henry storyline, but at this point - four weeks before break-up-with-Betty-to- go-back-to-Charlie-day - Henry's got some nerve to get all jealous and tell Gio to stay away. If you know you're going to ditch the girl in a few weeks, and she's got a chance at moving on to someone else instead of getting her heart broken, then you shouldn't try and stop that, imo.

Question! Was the test at the end about Ava or the HIV woman? Because I THOUGHT it was about the HIV woman, but if Ava's not pregnant... that means she's either lying to Alex or that something is wrong with her body to make her think that she's pregnant. I didn't pick up on that until I rewatched the episode. It was very confusing!

I can't believe I'm talking so much about Grey's Anatomy.

Ugh, me too.

And, aw, I actually love Gio. I thought he was mean and crazy in the first episode, but now I am aaall about Gio. Agreed about Henry, too. I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen, actually. Just not yet. Oh, Betty/Henry. I loved them once, but I'm ready for Henry to hit the road.

I thought the test was about Ava, not HIV-woman. If not, then wow, the show is undermining Izzy's *one* 'I'm a good doctor! Really!' moment. But I can definitely see thinking it was HIV-woman; Izzy's reaction works for either one.

I think the show made a good decision, giving Gio a break for awhile (or was it the strike that did that?) so we can get a bit more used to him. Because, even though I hated him a *lot* in he first episode, I've come to like him, and I'm all right with Gio/Betty now.
