Spotted: PB and BL making out on the beach... as friends!
LULZ, SHOCKING!

Really, I am kind of pissed. Now I can't use the AS FRIENDS! running bit anymore on GGN. And I do find it vaguely suspicious that People -- the official magazine of celebrity gossip -- got ahold of those pictures just in time to bury the story about Penn being jealous of Chace Crawford.

I'm not at all in GG fandom, but I think they're cute. Don't know if that's just my Dan/Serena side carrying over, though. (And it is funny how they're all "we're friends! no way we're hooking up!" and then this happens.)

ETA: I do believe that's the first time I've ever referred to this show as GG. In my mind, GG = Gilmore Girls, but I guess it's time to let that go.

They are definitely cute! I mean, I don't particularly care one way or the other, unless it turns into something that effects the show. Like CMM and Sofia Bush, which was a total disaster and helped ruin my enjoyment of OTH back when I still enjoyed OTH a million billion zillion years ago.

And, yeah, I am pretty much in the habit of calling Gossip Girl "GG" now, but every now and again, it irks. I still have a GG labeled Gilmore Girls icon in my f'list even. I actually know someone who abbreviates the show as XOXO show, which is cute.

I thankfully got into OTH after all the Chad/Sophia drama was done, but I can definitely see how that would affect one's enjoyment of the show. I do remember the awkwardness that was Syd/Vaughn on Alias after Michael Vartan and Jennifer Garner split up (even though their behind-the-scenes drama was nowhere near as epic as Chad and Sophia's). So, yeah, I hope Blake and Penn can keep their personal stuff from affecting the show.

I generally don't abbreviate "Gossip Girl" at all, although I do use "gossip" for my icons since I still have a few Gilmore icons labled "gg". I mean, much as I love you, Gossip Girl, I can't get over a favorite show of seven years that easily! And yeah, I saw someone refer to it as "XOXO" on my flist the othe day and thought it was cute. I was like "XOXO?....OH! GOTCHA."

That could have been a photoshoot, some of those pictures are really romantic! I feel kind of bad for them, they obviously had no idea they were being watched, but then I remember they have the money to go to faraway beaches and lounge around all day...

Yes, the Bleighton tinhats have adorably commented at length about how posed the photos look to them. But, they are very pretty, much prettier than the stalkerazzi photos I'm used to seeing of celebs on vacation. But do you really think they could have missed someone talking all of those pictures of them? It's like they knew, but didn't care? Maybe they decided that now the first season is over, it's time to come out as a couple?

I don't exactly follow OTH, but it seemed as though Chad and Sophia handled their drama on the show... did they?

IMO, I think it would be hard for Penn and Blake to NOT date, because their scenes together are just too lovey-dovey. No other show has done it quite as adorable as they have. So yeah, I think it would make sense.

I just hope it really doesn't affect the show. Somehow it just keeps happening on all these teen dramas, doesn't it? OTH, GG, GG, The OC.

I didn't really pay attention to the OTH behind-the-scenes drama, although I do believe the major reason for the demise of Brooke/Lucas was that it was simply too awkward. But the reason it really bothered me was that at the time they'd separated/divorced/annulled/whatever, their characters were in a similar situation, only reversed. Brooke had cheated on Lucas, and she had to spend all of her time groveling to Luke for his forgiveness. Imagine having to grovel to your cheating bastard ex-husband! It was just incredibly gross to watch. *shudder*
