As many of you know, the Organization of Transformative Works launched membership to the org at the end of March in six different languages.

As the Membership committee has previously reported, OTW now has over 400 members from 14 different countries and together, we have raised over US $12,000. Thank you so much for your support! This means we can start the process of purchasing dedicated, co-located servers for our various projects, including the Archive of Our Own.

While the membership drive itself is over, it's never too late to join OTW. Please see the linked entry at the beginning of this entry for more information.

OTW and the Community Relations committee have some fun things planned for the following few weeks; watch this space!

And finally, thanks to our Finnish volunteer translator, we are very happy to be able to bring membership information to you in Finnish.

On a less positive note, I was reading the comments on both of the clips & my respect for the general Moonlight fandom has dropped considerably. (And I really was impressed by the fandom before, with the rather awesome blood drive SOS & everything. :/) I think it's a bit selfish to completely hate a show on principle because it's replaced another show. When the Studio 60 fen got their hate on about The Black Donnellys, it didn't help their cause. When TBD was gone, Studio 60 didn't magically return. I mean, FFS. *headdesk*

So I've gone through the motions and I'm offiically graduated! Hot as heck but it was grand. It's a weird feeling knowing that Monday or in the fall even. If I don't want to I don't ever have to crazy. Though I'm going a year off and then I have to have a plan and in December I'll start applying to schools and hopfully have a plan for my future.

After our bbqs last night I passed out last night at seven and woke up at seven this morning. I needed some sleep. I got the worst cap burn. There is probably more I should type but I'm so hungry and the family is here to take me out to breakfast before I leave so that is all that my brain is focused on. But I am so excited to be free!!!

Lily and Bart’s wedding will surely be the event of the year (if not the century). Can’t wait to see who shows up. We’re sure things won’t go off without a hitch. A throw-away line mentions something is new to me: the show 'has been upped from a seven-episode order to 13'. (An earlier article features the cast promo shot that's been making the rounds.)

EW is also behind the times, because their 'sneak peek' isn't really all that new. :P

The 10th Anniversary Edition of Sports Night will be released on September 30th.

The fifth season of Stargate Atlantis will feature some new sets. There are set spoilers obviously, though they are minor.

Seeing it laid out like that, there... People can feel free to disagree with me, but I find it depressing and insulting. That isn't the sort of language I want to hear Dean using. I love Jensen Ackles, I want to wholeheartedly love Dean without feeling a twinge over the fact that he comes across as a misogynistic asshole.

That was awesome!

Competent pacing, non-awful dialogue, fairly intelligent, lots of 'splosions, people talking real fast, and a superhero who's aware that he's kind of a dick sometimes. I am impressed. (Although, apparently, there's still no such thing as realistic-looking CGI fire. Ah well.)

Was feeling a bit melancholy about age stuff, so I went shopping and got a massage. The masseuse was wonderful, but wow. Right now I feel boneless and have no energy whatsoever. I guess that's a good thing, no? In happier news... my new HD TiVo is here! I'll be SO glad to ditch that awful Comcast DVR and go back to my beloved little recorder. Just have to get Comcast out here to install the cable card thingy, and that won't happen until I have a day off in two weeks. Alas.

Quick tech question: Is it possible to make a video playlist for my iPod? So far, I can only do it with music.

One very general comment as I watch this week's Doctor Who: Pity that this is a kids' show, because Donna is totally the type who would shoot Ten a withering glare then bellow, "What the FUCK are you on about?!?"

But in the end they built this huge treehouse mansion and nursed a baby gorilla back to health. WHAT? I don't know.

06. What's up with everybody else?

This rec post is for the villainesses. Love them, hate them, or love to hate them; you certainly can't ignore them. There's a lot of good villainess fic written in this fandom, mostly for Delia, so these recs will be in two parts. This week: Delia and Josianne. Next week, Varice and Yolane.

1. Why are there major villainesses in the Alanna books, minor villainesses in the Daine books, and no villainesses in the books after?

Hey guys, I'm really sorry for another month and a half without anything but caps from me, but the season finale of Supernatural made the muse very happy (sadistic little bitch). The usefulness of pollsters is debatable at the best of times, and all things being what they are, this is not the best of times. We've no idea who the VP candidates will be, and these polls are universally agreed to be mostly useless until the general public starts paying attention, which usually happens circa the conventions. In most cases, the number of undecided voters in swing states (and the margin of error) is larger than the margin of difference. So, you know, take of this what you will.

It's move-out week at my apartment complex, so the carpet steam-cleaning guys are here, going from place to place in my building.  It's noisy.  I don't like noisy.  

Guess I'd better go see Prince Caspian, then. 

Okay, just a few quick updates to let you guys know about some small changes/additions.

I went through this morning and made sure that tags were on each entry (that needed them). As well as added picture posts to the memories. Granted, not ALL picture posts are going to be in the memories, but I did my best to get as many in there as possible. I'm going to try to do it daily/weekly so they are all added by event.

Also- I changed the link color, darker, so it should be easier to view. (I don't know about you, but it was KILLING my eyes!). I also changed the number of entries on our main page to 50, instead of 10. I know there's quite a few who view this as a bookmarked page so now you don't have to keep going back 10 entries. :)

And I added the navigation bar at the top of the page. I'm not a huge fan of them, but there's been some inquiry about a quick link to post to this journal and I figured that was the easiest way instead of going through the main page and all.

the FAQ page was updated with some things that we've been hearing from members.

And please remember that if you have anything to add/comment/suggest, use our Suggestion Box so that we can get to it ASAP.
