THINKING TOO HARD.
Just got back from Wanted, aaaand I think am going to talk about movies.

Wanted )

Prince Caspian )

WALL-E )

Iron Man )

Speaking of not thinking too hard... the Quantum of Solace trailer got released (kind of a pretentious mouthful, no?), which was very exciting and inspired me to rewatch Casino Royale. Now, I really love the Bond franchise, and Casino Royale really kicked it up a notch. But. )

My anal retentiveness, let me show you it.
Is anybody else thinking about sinking $50 on this year's MacHeist? There are only 9 days left, but I'm still going back and forth. I've always wanted ChaChing, on the pro side. VectorDesign and SoundStudio sound like an amazing deal, but I doubt I'd ever use them. I'm curious about TextExpander, but I don't know that I'd use anything else. I don't want any computer games, and I dislike having like third party apps all over my desktop! So I can't decide.

And in a completely random turn of events, I went back and fixed a bunch of broken images in my old picspams and memes, like The Veronica Mars Files picspam, my movie cap quiz, and my completely shameless FNL S1 pimpage. (Am I not supposed to say that anymore? What did fandom decide? I personally vote YES to "pimping." "Plugging" lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.)

But actually it's not so random, since the reason I spruced those up is because I've finally succumbed to del.icio.us, about a zillion years after the fact. Tell me, del.icio.us users, how do you deal with spaces in tags? Like, suppose I want to tag something "veronica mars." If I type "veronica mars," delicious will file my entry as "veronica" and "mars." So how do you do it? Help me standardize my tags!

I is well-read.
HAPPY STEPHANIE PLUM DAY! Not that I have the new book or anything. But the point is that I COULD have it if I wanted it! Which I do. Maybe I will go pick it up tomorrow.

This reminds me! I am thinking that maybe I should attend the Harry Potter party at Borders this year instead of B&N. I prefer B&N for book shopping, no question, but their HP party is kind of lacking. What with Borders sponsoring PotterCast and publishing the book of essays about Snape and their Snape: Friend or Foe? marketing campaign, I'm thinking that they might have a better party. Where are you guys going?

And even though the new Princess Diaries book is not nearly out, my sister and I are still already fighting about it. Or more specifically, we are fighting about J.P.'s motivations and intentions. I really wanted Mia and Michael to break up because I am bored of Michael, plus he is too old. But everything about their break up was so stupid, and EVERYONE told Mia she was stupid. Except J.P. who reinforced her stupidness because he has a crush on her. And he did a variety of other things that can be interpreted as a.) sketch or b.) understandably unfortunate behavior by a boy who has a crush on a girl who is dating someone else or (if you are my sister) c.) totally nice.

1. I wore my "The Fake News Is All I Need" t-shirt today for the first time. My littlest sister (NINE WHOLE YEARS!) didn't get it.

Kierra: What's that mean, on your shirt?
Caitlin: You know The Daily Show?
Kierra: Oh. With that grey-haired man?
Caitlin: ...

I mean, really. Did you ever think you'd see the day when Jon Stewart is "that grey-haired man"? It makes me feel old and decrepit.

2. There's a woman on MySpace who is organizing a hunger strike to try and get Sanjaya kicked off of American Idol. This amuses me.

3. I really like Filter, an iTunes plugin that analyzes your iTunes library and then generates playlists. I have a lot of eclectic music, and I DESPISE making playlists. Mostly I just listen to CDs or I shuffle my Recently Played list, etc. With Filter, I can choose two or three songs that reflect what I'm in the mood to listen to, and it generates a playlist of similar songs/genres/artists from my collection. I've been using it for a week, and I've been really impressed with it.

So does anyone know what's up with all of the pregnancy anvils Grey's Anatomy is dropping on Addison's head? It's nothing new, and I'd sort of learned to tune them out. But I've just managed to see the entire episode and they've really started falling again. So was Addison pregnant? Is she pregnant? And how much would you want to kill hypothetical people if it was Derek's?

I am still in a bad mood about USC winning. But, in better news, the SEC kicked some serious ACC ass, and that's good. And Georgia beat Georgia Tech, which I sort of care about but not that much. I like Georgia Tech, too. I don't know what the hell is Tech's problem that they hate us so much. Talk about chips on shoulders.

Some magazine thought it would be funny to prove he cleans up nice. But somehow, this is worse. I hate it when he doesn't look like himself. Renita and I argued for weeks whether or not it was him in the Fantasy fragrance commercials. More pictures.

Also, Fall Out Boy just scared Kidz Bop out of publishing a kid-friendly cover of "Dance Dance." OMG, they're so hardcore! If by hardcore you mean totally lame.

And I've decided that the reason people have "grillz" is because they have way, way too much money. It makes you weird in the head to have that much money and not enough to do with it. And then all of the sudden diamond dentures sound like a really fantastic idea.

I don't have any real problem with President Bush's verbal gaffes. Glass houses, stones - I fudge my words all the time, especially when I'm excited or angry. And some of the things he's messed up are just plain funny, all vitrol aside. I've since incorporated "misunderestimated" and "Internets" into my regular vocabulary.

Also. I've been fiddling around with shaveeverywhere.com for over half an hour now, and I still can't decide whether or not it's real. I think that means it must be real. I am honestly totally shocked that any major company would go with this ad campaign. I mean it's funny, but it's almost satire. Hmm. Too bad all the advertising majors I know have graduated.

I've been meaning to post about the new Mac ad campaign for awhile. If I was an English teacher, I would totally use them to explain personification to my students. I like how the PC is a nice, amiable, square sort-of-guy. He looks like an employee who fills out spreadsheets for a living. Has anyone else noticed how Justin Long vaguely resembles Steve Jobs? And John Hodgman (of The Daily Show) sort of looks like a rotund Bill Gates if you tilt your head a bit.

And I need to take the Apple page off of my Bookmark Bar because OMG I want one of the sexy new MacBooks so badly. SO BEAUTIFUL. I am so, so happy that I didn't buy another iBook three months ago, otherwise I would be completely bummed out right now. And those bastards at the Apple Store let on NOTHING! I think my dad is finally going to succumb to the temptation of the black MacBook. It matches his iPod.

Now this is funny. What would happen if Microsoft designed the iPod packaging? The funniest thing about the video is that it was actually produced by a group of Microsoft employees as an excersize in self-criticism.

And the preview I saw for Casino Royale made more of an impression on me than The DaVinci Code did seeing as how I had a dream about it last night. I'm reserving judgement on Daniel Craig until I see the movie, but my initial reaction to the trailer is that he's rather too short to be James Bond. And much older than I'd expected, as I thought the whole point was to go rather a bit younger so they wouldn't have to switch so soon.
